
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her debut in professional football and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest athlete on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to have 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012. This made her the sixth and youngest athlete in the world to achieve 20 goals in a single year. Morgan was later awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
